MOTORCYCLE/POLICE VEHICLE COLLISION $1.1 MILLION WRONGFUL DEATH DAMAGES

WRONGFUL DEATH

An off-duty Buffalo firefighter was killed in a spectacular collision on Route 33/Kensington Expressway when an on-duty Buffalo police officer, a member of its accident investigation unit, investigating a vehicle fatality from the previous night, created a second fatality by wrongfully pulling into the path of the victim’s motorcycle.  The State Supreme Court jury found the Buffalo Police Department 100% negligent for the cause of the fatality resulting in a $1.1 million dollar payment to the victim’s family.
